AB 2425/S1567 would authorize a statewide transit benefit ordinance in New Jersey similar to that of San Francisco, Washington DC, and New York City. If enacted, employers with more than 50 employees would be required to offer pre-tax transportation fringe benefits to their employees. Transit benefit programs greatly reduce drive alone rates, thus, reducing congestion, improving air quality and improving quality of life for all users of the transportation system.
