The U.S. Department of Energy awarded $59 million to 43 projects that will explore advanced vehicle technology research. The funding comes from the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and addresses a variety of subjects ranging from electric driving systems and batteries to alternative fuels and powertrains.
